Midwifery Services BIRTH WITH HOPE offers compassionate midwifery care for low risk women. These services are provided by a licensed Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). Midwifery services include prenatal visits, labor and birth attendance, and postpartum care. We offer homebirth, waterbirth, and alternative birthing options. Our approach to pregnancy is very holistic, focusing on nutrition, herbs, exercise, and relaxation. We believe that an all natural approach to labor with minimal intervention allows for a gentle birth. In summary, we focus on natural pregnancy and gentle birth choices. Natural Pregnancy Natural pregnancy includes creating an internal and external environment of healthy, positive elements: eating wisely, exercising, using appropriate herbs, educating oneself, planning the ideal care, and partnering with a caregiver who will respect you as the decision maker of your body. We offer childbirth and nutrition classes which assist in this educational process. We offer prenatal swimming and prenatal yoga as exercise options. Our childbirth education class discusses the art of bellydancing in relation to prenatal exercise and its application for use during labor (swaying the hips, slow dancing, circling the hips). Gentle Birth We believe that undisturbed birth leads to a gentle, beautiful birth. We offer birth balls, birthing ropes, rice socks, herbs, warm showers, large padded water tub, and massage to facilitate the labor process. Women may birth in large warm beds (without stirrups) or in our comfortable water birth tub. We encourage women to labor and birth in any position which is comfortable for them. Our birthing women have privacy and a peaceful environment. We provide a serene, candle lit, calm, quiet environment so that our laboring woman can birth from within. Waterbirth We specialize as water birth practitioners. Our birth tub is from Waterbirth International, designed by Barbara Harper. This comfortable padded birth tub is the first and only FDA-approved waterbirth pool. Birth tubs are an excellent way to labor and/or give birth! Doula/Monitrice Services We offer doula/monitrice services for those who choose to birth with an obstetrician in the hospital environment. Our birth tub is available for hospital use. Safety The safety and benefits of midwifery care have been proven in countries across the world. World Health Organization statistics show that there is no difference in infant mortality between midwife-attended and physician-attended births for low-risk women. Countries such as the Netherlands, Sweden, and New Zealand, which have the best birth outcome statistics in the world, use midwives as their main maternity care providers. Routine interventions (epidurals, pitocin induction, cytotec) used in hospital births produce a cascade effect which causes cesarean rates to climb. In the home birth setting, the focus is on the mother, not the technology. Undisturbed birth leads to better outcomes. Homebirth- $3,000 Price includes tub rental, birth supplies, and all prenatal visits. Waterbirth Consultants- $600 Where do we provide services?
